2014 New Year Goals - Health, Fitness, Business and Travel

I just took a deep breath thinking back on all that has happened.  This past year my life has truly started a new chapter.  January 1st 2013 I had just published my first book and started my journey of online business.  I was living at a Muay Thai gym full time and had been focusing on nothing but training and writing.

Health and Fitness in the start of 2013:

I was working out up to 6 days a week, running, doing Muay Thai and focusing on fitness.  I was also always injured, had a difficult time losing body fat, chronically fatigued and didn't feel healthy overall.

Money and Business in the start of 2013:

I had less than $1,000 in my bank account and no return flight home.  I knew that it was a turning point of my life and I needed to either go back to teaching Scuba Diving even though my passion for had died or I could go back and get a normal job again.  I didn't want to do either, but I knew I had to do something so I wrote a book.

I was making around $600 a month in total and along with watching my savings slowly creep down to zero I learned how to live as cheaply as possible while living in Thailand.

Starting CrossFit and Paleo:

The biggest change I've made to my health and fitness was completely changing my diet and workout. I started doing CrossFit religiously five days a week and eating strict upgraded Paleo following the Bulletproof Diet.
I started losing inches on my waist, my body fat decreased and I started having more energy than ever. For the first time in my life I had found a diet/workout combination that was truly working.

Starting my online business:

I was down to less than $200 in my bank account when I started my eCommerce business but I knew it had potential to work.  I had met Anton while traveling and knew he was both successful and a truly genuine guy.  I decided to trust him 100% and dedicate the next two months of my life to working on nothing else but my online store hoping and praying it would work.

It took exactly two months to get my first sale and when I did, I was so excited!  I still remember the exact day, it was July 27th and I not only made one sale but I made two that first day.  I had actually started a legitimate online business and had real customers!  Anton's Method had worked.

May 1st - July 31st 2013 Sales

End of 2013:

The three biggest things that changed my life has been eating Diet, Exercise and Business.  It took me 32 years to figure it out, but I'm glad I did now instead of another ten years from now.  I want to dedicate this year to everyone who has guided me through the process and has made me life the way it is today.  I feel truly blessed and happy as I am healthy, in great shape, full of energy and watching my bank account grow each and every month.

It took a lot of hard work but it was worth every second of it.  My only regret is not doing it sooner.

My goals for 2014:

I am going to continue to eat Bulletproof Paleo as it has both become a habit as well as a way of life.  I've gotten used to always feeling great, being full of energy and being healthy and never want to go back to anything else.

Fitness wise I have learned a lot of lessons from doing CrossFit and it has taught me the importance and benefits of good mobility and high intensity workouts but I have decided to scale it back and focus on feeling healthy and injury free.

For business I want to make 2014 the year I start manufacturing my own products and creating a brand.  I will continue to grow and maintain my eCommerce stores but want to use my knowledge and experience from running the stores to something with even bigger margins and possibilities.

Best wishes to everyone in the new year.

Warm Regards,

Johnny

  1. Sounds like a great year! All the best to the 2014. I read your blog for about two months, so I thought it's time to say hi :-)

Planning to relocate to SE Asia soon as well, luckily I have already some cash buffer + low income online business.

I live in Sydney right now, and can't wait to not pay $25 for a single meal when going out with friends :)

    1. Hey Jakub, thanks for finally introducing yourself. SE Asia is going to be fun, I just got back from dinner with friends, had a massive plate of stir fry broccoli with pork, another big plate of black pepper chicken and an avocado/coconut and lime shake for 140 baht which is $4.75AUS You're going to love it here.

    2. I'm sure I will. I went to Bali this November, and the lifestyle is just great :)
I would love to buy a ticket, pack my stuff and fly there by tomorrow.

Need to get an Australian passport first though, because there is no way I'm going back home to (bloody freezing) Europe. And who knows, maybe after few years I may get tired of living in countries where just things doesn't work the way we are used to...
