How You Can Do Thailand like Jay Alvarrez and Alexis Ren
https://www.johnnyfd.com/2015/07/how-you-can-do-thailand-like-jay.html
A friend of mine linked me to a new video called "This Epic Video Showcases The Ultimate Thailand Trip." The video is below and a must watch if you haven't seen it yet, but here's a secret. It wasn't filmed in Thailand, and I instantly knew.
Here's the crazy thing...I've been to so many tropical islands, swam with so many sharks, and did so much of what they did in the videos that I knew right away what part of the world they were in, and it wasn't Thailand. But here's the coolest part, is you don't have to simply daydream #goals - you can do everything they've done in the video yourself! I do it everyday and it's more attainable than you might think. Keep reading to check out the video yourself, their Southern California video as well as why it doesn't have to just be a goal...it can be YOUR LIFE.
Watch this video, it's awesome, even though the author who shared it was wrong and it wasn't filmed entirely in Thailand.
It's awesome, inspiring, and makes you want to get off your ass and travel!
Make Your Own Reality
Here's why it's not #goals but instead #reality
Both Jay Alvarrez and his girlfriend, who happens to be a model Alexis Ren are just two normal people that have decided to live extraordinary lives.
It may look out of reach for most people, but trust me it's not.
I've done pretty much everything in their videos, and my life really isn't' that different....and it's not just me. The new location independant movement consists of thousands of people from all over the world that do just that.
Creating Freedom:
Both Jay and Alexis have chosen to do what they love for a living instead of working a 9-5 job. They simply share cool things they do, and people follow. You may not be a model, but that doesn't mean you can't create a killer youtube channel.
A friend of mine makes $30,000 a month from his videos where he teaches people how to play piano and he stays in the same building as me here in Thailand.

The California Dream
Their other video shows them living the life in California that others dream of. But here's the thing. I lived in California and even though it's possible to do all of those things, no one does...because we have bills to pay and work to pay them off.
It doesn't mean California is any less cool than they show in the video, but in reality, my friends who live 10 miles from the beach only go there once or twice a year. There's so much traffic and stress to find parking that most people I know back home just don't have the time or money to really enjoy it.
Here's how to live like Jay and Alexis:
- Do what you love and document it.
- Stop wasting your life working a job you hate.
- Use your natural born talents to your advantage.
- Be location independent and travel.
Instead of dreaming about someone else's life and hashtagging #goals, figure out what natural blessings you have, what skills you have acquired, and let others dream about your life.
For guys out there, stop chasing women just because they are blonde, skinny and in a bikini. When I was single, I thought that's what would make me happy. But now that I'm fortunate enough to have a girlfriend who is just that I've realized how little it actually matters.
For girls out there, stop spending time, money and mental energy trying to look like a model. Just be the best version of yourself by exercising, eating healthy, not smoking or over-drinking, then accept yourself for exactly who you are as the best version of you is by definition, perfect.

ReplyDeleteReally glad you enjoyed the article!
DeleteHow are you suppose to do what you love and make enough money to travel around the world?Alexis ren and her boyfriend can do it because they both model for rich company's like Calvin Klein. They also come from families who have a good amount of money. I would love to live my life like them, but giving up a job that I hate to do something I love won't help me pay for expensive plane tickets, places to stay, paying for food and things to do.
ReplyDeleteHey Julia,
DeleteCheck out the book The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss, he goes over a lot of it in detail. Then read 12 Weeks in Thailand, it's how I got started with it!
