6 Steps: Be the Hero of your Own Movie with Joe Rogan and Arnold Schwarzenegger
https://www.johnnyfd.com/2014/05/6-steps-be-hero-of-your-own-movie-with.html
Ready for some Motivation and more importantly, some action?
Step 1: Watch this video.
(Put your headphones in, and give me 1 and a half minutes of your undivided attention.)
Step 2: Say out loud.
"It is possible. It is possible for me."
Joe Rogan for those who don't know is like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of comedy. Instead of being an Austrian immigrant who followed his dreams to become the most famous body builder in the world, turned hollywood action hero turned governor of California, Joe Rogan followed his own path.
He stated as a comedian, became the host of fear factor, started commentating for the UFC, then started his own Podcast which has inspired millions of people to better themselves, rethink the world and contribute to positive change.
I started as an overweight, lonely, depressed Asian-American who decided to take the chance and escape a normal life back in 2008 to learn how to scuba dive and do Muay Thai to live an easier life. I ended up getting good enough to teach diving, fight muay thai, and somehow stumbled onto making enough money where I'll never have to go back.
It is possible for you as well. If you haven't already, say it out loud.
"It is possible. It is possible for me."
Step 1: Watch this video.
(Put your headphones in, and give me 1 and a half minutes of your undivided attention.)
He stated as a comedian, became the host of fear factor, started commentating for the UFC, then started his own Podcast which has inspired millions of people to better themselves, rethink the world and contribute to positive change.
“We define ourselves far too often by our past failures. That’s not you. You are this person right now. You're the person who has learned from those failures. Build confidence and momentum with each good decision you make from here on out and choose to be inspired.” —Joe Rogan
Step 3: Take 1 minute to actually write this down.
Do it. Seriously. Don't skip over this. The next minute can set the path to changing your life. Don't skip over this. Stop reading this and go get yourself a pen and paper. Ready?
- Write down your goals.
- Write down things you want to improve.
- Write down things you will no longer tolerate from yourself.
- Write down things you've done in the past that you never want to see yourself do ever again.
"Go forth from here as the hero of your own movie. Build momentum, build confidence and momentum with each good decision you make from here on out."
Step 4: Write down a specific date you are to reach each goal and how you plan to accomplish each one.
Examples:
By July 11th 2014 I will have a 34" waist. I will accomplish this by continuing to eat strict paleo and exercising four days per week.
As of today, May 20th, 2014, I will never again go more than 7 days without exercising, no matter what comes up.
As of today, May 20th, 2014, I will never again weigh more than 200lbs, I will accomplish this by exercising at least once a week, and by continuing to eat a paleo style diet.
By May 20th, 2014 I will have finished writing Life Changes Quick. I will accomplish this by writing two chapters per week.
Step 5: Bookmark this page, watch the videos again whenever you need motivation.
You'll need to work hard. Don't waste your time with anything that isn't pushing you towards your goals. Listen to Arnold Schwarzenegger,
1. Trust yourself
2. Break some rules
3. Don't be afraid to fail
4. Ignore the naysayers
5. Work like hell
6. Give something back.
Mohammed Ali, one of my great heroes, had a great line in the ’70s when he was asked, “How many sit-ups do you do?” He said, “I don’t count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting. When I feel pain, that’s when I start counting, because that’s when it really counts.” That’s what makes you a champion.
Step 6: Be publicly accountable.
Leave a comment below and say you're in. Make a post on your blog. Email a friend. Or start a new blog documenting your journey. Do something where you become accountable. Even printing out a calendar and writing what you did to work towards your goals everyday is helpful. Just do something.
If you haven't completed the six steps, scroll back up and watch Joe Rogan's video again. Then this time, actually do it. Don't sit in the audience and watch someone else's action film, be the hero of your own movie. You can do it, I have faith in you, it's time for you to have faith in yourself.
Warm Regards,
Johnny FD
